[origin: EP2092856A1] An improvement for a waterbed mattress has special openings in the side or bottom of the mattress to enable the user to insert stabilizing modules to customize the mattress to individual requirements. The openings comprise access slots sealed by inner and outer lips and secured by various means, e.g. sliding clasp fasteners, press tapes etc. The stabilizing modules are removed and fitted after the mattress has been emptied. Special tapes to prevent premature opening support the fastenings. The insert modules can be connected to control systems which vary their pressures.
