Abstract (en)
The device has a support arm (8) arranged in front of a user (1), and another support arm (10) acting as protector placed behind the user to hold the user in case of falling. The arms are retracted from vertical raised position to lowered position parallel to steps, and integrated with an engine-block (2), which is declutchable. The arms are placed in the lowered position at height of the user, and an engine-block control device constituted of control lugs is actuated from one of the support arms.

Un dispositif de sécurité pour la montée et la descente d'un escalier (6), comprenant deux bras d'appui mobiles (8, 10) rabattables d'une position relevée essentiellement verticale à une position abaissée, parallèle aux marches et un rail de guidage (4) disposé parallèlement à la pente de l'escalier (6). Ce dispositif comprend un bloc motorisé (2) apte à se déplacer le long du rail de guidage (4), un système d'alimentation (12) de ce bloc motorisé. En position abaissée, les deux bras (8, 10) sont placés devant et derrière l'utilisateur, sensiblement à hauteur de la taille. Un dispositif de commande (26, 28) est actionnable à partir des deux bras d'appui (8, 10). Les bras étant rabattables verticalement, la présence du dispositif n'empêche pas l'usage normal de l'escalier (6) ainsi équipé.
