Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2008064506A2] The invention relates to an optical pressure sensor based on light intensity measurements, comprising at least one membrane 8 and two parallel optical fibers 1, 4. At least one first fiber 1 has a fiber end 2 and a light emission surface 3, 3' for emitting light 10 in the direction of the membrane 8, and at least one second fiber 4 has a fiber end 5 having a light admission surface 6, 6' for receiving and transmitting the light 10 reflected on the membrane 8. The concept underlying the invention is characterized in that the light emission surface 3, 3' and the light admission surface 6, 6' of the two fibers 1, 4 are disposed facing away from each other. This changes the optical path of the light 10 during use such that the light portion received by the receiving fiber 4 greatly depends on the membrane position.
