[origin: WO2008051112A1] The invention relates to mechanically processing sheet or coiled or laminated material, in particular to stamping methods and means. The inventive method for producing a photograph-like image on metal paper or metallised material in such away that demi-tints are transmitted and the image is securely protected against counterfeit, consists in applying an image by means of a calender press, the working surface of one of the rolls of which or the working surfaces of the both rolls of which are provided with rows of projections, in forming a relief surface, the shape and the variable depth of which are determined by the reproducible original of the image according to the optical density of corresponding areas of the reproducible image, on one of the rolls by engraving and removing the material of projections within the limits of the height thereof, and in producing a like-photograph image which is differently ("negative" or "positive") perceivable according to a visual angle, and/or the type and/or the position of a light source. The variants of the embodiment of the method and the calender press are also disclosed.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Prägen eines Bildes auf ein Streifen- oder Bandmaterial mit einem Kalander mit zwei Prägewellen, von denen eine mit einer Antriebswelle gekoppelt ist und beide Wellen mit in Reihen von Überständen versehen sind, die ineinander greifen. Damit ein wirksames und wirtschaftliches Verfahren zur Erzeugung eines fotorealistischen Bildes erzeugt wird, wird die Reliefoberfläche einer Welle durch Entfernung des Überstandsmaterials innerhalb der Überstandshöhe so ausgebildet, dass die Tiefe der Reliefoberfläche variiert und mit zwei Größen des Tiefenwertes unabhängig von der optischen Dichte eines Originalbildes gemacht wird, wobei durch all diese Merkmale ein Effekt der Imitation von unterschiedlichen Grauwerten sichergestellt wird. Die Grauwerte sind durch die optische Dichte der entsprechenden Fragmente des zu kopierenden Originalbildes vorgegeben und erzeugen ein fotorealistisches Bild, das je nach Betrachtung unterschiedlich wahrnehmbar ist.
