[origin: CA2671620A1] The present invention relates to an adapter for data transmission between a toothbrush and an external terminal, for example a data processing and/or display unit, with a data transmission device that has an interface for too thbrushes and an interface for terminals. The invention also relates to an e lectric toothbrush with a handle onto which an attachment brush can be mount ed and/or to which a container of application substance can be connected, an d with a data transmission device that has an interface for data transmissio n between the handle and the attachment brush and/or the container of applic ation substance. The present invention further relates to a method for data transmission between a toothbrush and an external terminal. For the data com munication between the external terminal and the toothbrush, it is proposed to use either the same interface provided for data transmission between the toothbrush handle and the attachment brush or container of application subst ance, or a wireless USB interface.
