[origin: WO2008070949A1] A method for stitching input images which overlap in an overlap region comprises: obtaining a low-frequency band subimage from each input image; obtaining a high-frequency band subimage from each input image; blending the low-frequency band subimages across at least a portion of the overlap region to create a low-frequency band output image; splicing the high-frequency band subimages across at least a portion of the overlap region to create a high-frequency band output image; and combining the low-frequency band output image and the high-frequency band output image to create a full band output stitched image.
