Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008083854A1] The invention relates to switching actuators (140) for controlling the energy supply to electric consumers (102), particularly electronic ballasts (110, 120), which correspond to the interface definition of "digital addressable lighting interface" (DALI). It is the object of the invention to provide a device, which makes it possible to reduce the energy consumption of lighting systems in stand-by mode, without impairing the ease of use of the lighting system. To solve the task, a switching actuator for controlling the energy supply to at least one electric consumer (110) is provided, the actuator comprising an energy supply input (142), an energy supply output (144), a signal line input (146), a signal line output (148), and an evaluation unit (154), wherein the evaluation unit (154) is configured such that it can activate or deactivate the energy supply output (144) by means of signals received via the signal line input (146).
