The binding has a ratchet band (9) plugged into a ratchet clasp, and fastened to a side wall (2) on a side of a base plate (1). The ratchet band is attached to a region of the side wall, where the region is formed by a segment (11). The segment is pivoted against a remaining side wall with a hinge joint. The segment is loaded with a spring for pivoting the ratchet band from a closing position over the base plate into an opening position besides the base plate. The hinge joint is formed by pins (17, 18) at both front sides (19, 20) of the segment.

Eine Snowboardbindung weist eine Grundplatte (1), von der sich beiderseits Seitenwände (2, 3) nach oben erstrecken, und einen Zehenriemen (5) auf, der an einer Seite der Grundplatte (1) verschwenkbar befestigt und an seinem freien Ende mit einer Ratschenschnalle (7) versehen ist, in die ein an der anderen Seitenwand (2, 3) befestigtes Ratschenband (9) steckbar ist. Der Bereich der Seitenwand (2), an dem das Ratschenband (5) befestigt ist, wird durch ein Segment (11) gebildet, das gegenüber der restlichen Seitenwand (12, 13) mit einem Scharniergelenk verschwenkbar ist. Zur Verschwenkung des Ratschenbandes (9) von der Schließstellung über der Grundplatte (1) in die Offenstellung neben der Grundplatte (1) ist das Segment (11) mit einer Feder (26) belastet.
