Abstract (en)
The moving handrail (2) of an escalator is monitored by a sensor (6) at the end side (7) of the pedestal (4) near the opening (5). The sensor registers the presence of a hand or other object, which could be trapped by the moving handrail. The sensor, without contact, registers variations in an electrical and/or magnetic field and can be fitted with a transmitting electrode (10) and a receiver electrode (11).

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Sicherheitsvorrichtung für eine Fahrtreppe oder Fahrsteige mit einem Handlauf, der durch eine Handlaufeinführung geführt wird, wobei die Handlaufeinführung einen Stirnsockel mit einer Einführungsstelle für den Handlauf umfasst sowie die Handlaufeinführung mit einem Sensor zum Detektieren eines Körperteiles oder eines Gegenstandes versehen ist, der eine Einklemmgefahr darstellt. Der Sensor (6) ist an einer Stirnseite (7) des Stirnsockels (4) im Bereich der Einführungsstelle (5) angeordnet.
