A suction device (11) is provided for suction of air from the dropping pipe through a transport band (10). The suction device has suction boxes at which suction lines are attached. The suction boxes are formed as cleaning boxes with a cleaning device for removing the fibers, which are penetrated from the transport band into the boxes.
