[origin: WO2008071733A1] The invention relates to a method for reading out data (A, B, C, D) from a storage medium which stores the data (A, B, C, D) distributed in sectors (Be1, Be2, ... Bem), wherein each sector (Be1, Be2,... Bem) is assigned a sector identifier (A1, A2... An, B1, B2... Bn, C1, C2... Cn, D1, D2... Dn) according to the data (A, B, C, D) stored in the sector (Be1, Be2,... Bem). The method contains the following steps: a) assignment of a data identifier (A<SUB>Dk</SUB>, B<SUB>Dk</SUB>, C<SUB>Dk</SUB>, D<SUB>dk</SUB>) corresponding to the data to be read out (A, B, C, D); b) grouping of the data identifiers (A<SUB>Dk</SUB>, B<SUB>Dk</SUB>, C<SUB>Dk</SUB>, D<SUB>dk</SUB>) into at least one group (G1, G2,... Gi); c) carrying out of a search algorithm, wherein the sector identifier (A1, A2... An, B1, B2... Bn, C1, C2... Cn, D1, D2... Dn) in each sector (Be1, Be2,... Bem) is compared by sector and by group to the data identifiers (A<SUB>Dk</SUB>, B<SUB>Dk</SUB>, C<SUB>Dk</SUB>, D<SUB>dk</SUB>) contained in the groups (G1, G2,... Gi) and, when one of the data identifiers (A<SUB>Dk</SUB>, B<SUB>Dk</SUB>, C<SUB>Dk</SUB>, D<SUB>dk</SUB>) corresponds to a sector identifier (G1, G2,... Gi), the data (A, B, C, D) is read out from the sector (Be1, Be2,... Bem).
