Abstract (en)
The dial (1) has transparent upper and lower layers (2, 3) made of different materials, and markings provided on one of upper and lower faces (6, 7) of the layer (3). The markings are provided on one of upper and lower faces (4, 5) of the layer (2). The markings comprise indications e.g. digits, permitting reading of information in co-operation with an indicating body e.g. needle, of a timepiece. The layer (2) is made of a material more rigid than the other layer (3). The layer (2) is made of mineral glass or sapphire and the other layer (3) is made of biaxially oriented polypropylene. One of transparent layers is formed of Rayoart(RTM: thickest polymer film). An independent claim is also included for a timepiece comprising a case in which a dial is surrounded and held by a seal.
