[origin: WO2008055278A2] The invention relates to a device (1) for retaining bags, especially purses (9). The aim of the invention is to provide a device which is simple and easy to install and which allows storage of the purse in a space-saving manner. For this purpose, the device comprises a bearing element (2) having a bearing surface (21), an angular element (4) connected to the bearing element (2) and a hook element (5). The hook element (5) can be swiveled in relation to the angular element (4) about a swiveling axis (46). The bearing element (2) interacts with the hook element (5) to form a closure when in the closed position.
