Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008052876A1] The invention relates to a drying arrangement for drying a paper, cardboard, tissue, or other fibrous material web (1) in a machine for producing and/or finishing of the same, comprising at least one heated drying cylinder (2), being surrounded at least partially by the fibrous material web (1) and the at least one support belt (5) that is located at the outside. The invention further comprises an overpressure cap (4) which is able to impinge upon the drying cylinder (2) in the region where it is surrounded with a pressurized liquid or gaseous medium. The temperature of the medium is lower than the temperature at the outside of the drying cylinder (2) in the region being surrounded by the material web. At least one support belt (5) is led immediately before and/or after the surrounding of the drying cylinder (2) over a guiding roller (3). The stress on the drying cylinder (2) is to be reduced by the diameter of the drying cylinder (2) being larger than 1,5 m, the diameter of the guiding roller (3) larger than 400 mm and the angle of wrap of the support belt (5) larger than 150°.
