[origin: EP2106998A1] The submarine has a pressure body (2) and a propeller driven by an electrical drive motor (4). The drive motor is arranged outside interior of the pressure body, and is formed as an external rotor or a synchronous motor. The drive motor has a stator and a rotor (6), which forms a part of the propeller. The stator is integrated into a wall of the pressure body. The propeller forms a rudder device and comprises propeller blades (10), where a setting angle of the blades is changeable. An outer side of the rotor aligns with an outer side of the body.
