[origin: WO2008155044A1] When inspecting a sealing cap (13) of a tube (11) in a tube filling machine, the presence of the sealing cap (13) is detected. When the sealing cap (13) is present, a torque is applied thereto in the closing direction, provision being made that the torque be applied to the sealing cap (13) only after the tube (11) has been filled. The torque may be applied to the sealing cap (13) of the tube (11) in a tube closing station (S) or in a cap turning station (K) disposed downstream of the tube closing station (S).
