[origin: WO2008083677A1] The invention relates to lighting elements having a reflecting Fresnel structure (3), by means of which light of a light source (1) is directed to a reflecting element provided with a Fresnel structure, and is reflected there for the illumination of a surface (4). The object of the invention is to create a possibility that allows a homogenous lighting of surfaces to be illuminated in a universal form by means of lighting elements utilizing reflecting elements. A lighting element according to the invention is characterized in that a faceted Fresnel structure, having flank angles of active surfaces of the Fresnel structure that deviate from one another, is configured on the reflecting element in a region about the optical axis of the light source. Thus, at least part of the reflected light is directed toward the outer edge of the surface to be illuminated, and/or a non-structured region is configured on the outer edge of the element to be reflected about a region that is equipped with a Fresnel structure, wherein the non-structured region reflects light in the region of the outer edge of the surface to be illuminated.
