Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008080183A1] A method for burning liquid fuels, characterized in that an amount (VL1) of the total air (VL) required for burning is introduced into the liquid fuel (FB) in the form of small air bubbles for a highly variable overall heat output, particularly at least within a range of one and fifty times the amount of heat output in one and the same system, that the liquid fuel/air mixture (BLG) obtained is brought to at least 10 bar, is intermittently fed to an injection nozzle (20) protruding into the combustion chamber (10) and is atomized there in the manner of an explosion at a constant injection pressure, wherein the duration (?x) of each of the liquid fuel/air mixtures (BLG) introduced with each fuel injection pulse (BI) is kept constant at a desired value, and wherein the total amount of the liquid fuel/air mixture (BLG) injected per time unit is adjusted between the constant fuel injection pulses by varying the duration (?t), and that the remaining amount (VL2) of the combustion air (VL) is introduced in the combustion chamber (10) through an air nozzle (30) surrounding the port of the injection nozzle (20) in an annular manner.
