Abstract (en)

A bag-in-box packaging system for bulk flowable materials comprising: a collapsible rigid outer carton of generally rectangular or square cross-section formed from non-laminated corrugated board, the rigid outer carton having four hingedly connected side walls (2S,4S,6S,8S); a collapsible reinforcing inner sleeve formed from non-laminated corrugated board within the rigid outer carton, the reinforcing inner sleeve having four hingedly connected panels (20',20",22',22";30',30",32'32") each with two section (20S',20T',20S",...) to be doubled over at a central fold line to form an inner and an outer layer of four superimposed sections each, within and adjacent the four side walls (2S,4S,6S,8S) of the collapsible rigid carton, and a flexible inner liner within the rigid outer carton and the reinforcing inner sleeve, wherein the reinforcing inner sleeve comprises a first and a second flap (24,34;26,36) hingedly connected to opposite and sections (22S',22T"), corresponding end sections (22S",22T') being shorter than said opposite end sections.
