[origin: EP2108799A1] The jet engine (1) has an emergency drive (10), and an engine shaft, which is coupled with an auxiliary gearbox (7) by a gearwheel cable (4). The auxiliary gearbox is coupled with an auxiliary device (8), particularly an electric generator. The emergency drive has a rotatable component. The rotatable component of the emergency drive is placed at the gearwheel cable. An independent claim is included for a method for driving for an auxiliary device in a jet engine.
