[origin: EP2109066A1] An image output apparatus (10) may be configured to create one piece of image data in a bitmapped format from PDL data described by a page description language, and output a plurality of pieces of image data (250 to 264) as one page of an output image. The image output apparatus (10) may input data files (150 to 164). The data files (150 to 164) may include at least two data files, one of which may be described by a first page description language and the other of which may be described by a second page description language. The image output apparatus (10) may determine, for each of the data files (150 to 164), with respect to at least one page of PDL data included in the data file (150 to 164), a position (C1, C2) in which one piece of image data (150 to 164) corresponding to the PDL data is to be disposed within the output image. The image output apparatus (10) may create, for each of the data files (150 to 164), with respect to at least one page of PDL data included in the data file (150 to 164), one piece of intermediate language data (92, 96) described by an intermediate language from the PDL data. The image output apparatus (10) may create, for each piece of the intermediate language data (92, 96), one piece of image data (250 to 264) from the piece of intermediate language data (92, 96), and write the one piece of image data (250 to 264) in a position (D1, D2) within a memory (42, 142) corresponding to the determined position (C1, C2) with respect to the original PDL data of the one piece of image data (250 to 264). The image output apparatus (10) may output the plurality of pieces of image data (250 to 264) as one page of the output image in accordance with the stored contents of the memory (42, 142).
