[origin: EP2109305A1] The method involves receiving image-capture signals at image-capture devices from multiple synchronization modules (3, 9) via logical channels (6, 18). A capture time of image sensors is controlled by the image-capture signals at the image-capture devices. An image is captured at each image-capture device based on reception of the image-capture signal. Image data is transmitted via a network from the image-capture devices via one of the logical channels. External switching signals are received or transmitted by outputs of synchronization modules that are equipped with a memory. An independent claim is also included for a duplex-networked camera system comprising a hardware-supported synchronization module.
