Abstract (en)
The iron shoe (10) has an ironing surface that is brought in contact with an item to be ironed e.g. garment, and a base body. A fastening element (16) e.g. spring lock, fastens the iron shoe to a smoothing iron e.g. electric iron. The surface has a textile material (12) e.g. polyester or polyamide, for direct contact with the item, where the iron shoe is placed below a smoothing iron sole. The surface is completely covered with the material. The textile material is a non-woven or a woven material i.e. knitted fabric. The body has a frame (14) made of plastic i.e. polybutylene terephthalate. An independent claim is also included for a method for ironing an item.
