[origin: WO2008103602A2] A method may include forming a primary label switching path (LSP) from a first node to a second node, where the primary LSP has a path metric that is less than a predetermined value. The method may also include detecting a failure in the primary LSP and identifying a second path from the first node to the second node that has a path metric that is less than the predetermined value. The method may further include routing data via the second path in response to the failure in the primary LSP.
