Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2113468A1] The sheath (1) has a longilineal body (2) including wall (10) that defines inner and outer surfaces (11, 12). A longitudinal slot or incision (4) is formed from one end to another end of the body. A flexible smooth protective band (5) is arranged inside the body in a plane passing through the slot or incision and opposite to the slot or incision. The protective band is made of non-woven material, and forms an envelope (6) inside the sheath. The envelope is fixed to the body through longitudinal edges (7a, 7b) of the protective band. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for fabricating a flexible protective sheath (2) a mounting tool for assembling a flexible protective sheath on an edge of an object, comprising a quill (3) a method for assembling a flexible protective sheath on an edge of an object.
