Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2008092591A2] The invention relates to the use of guanidinoacetic acid and/or the salts thereof combined with choline and/or betaine for producing an agent for improving brain performance, bone growth and the mineralisation of bones, for improving cartilege growth, diminishing the ageing process, reinforcing the immune system, as an antioxidant, neuroprotective active ingredient, for reducing cholesterol and triglyceride levels, for preventing inflammation and for reducing the blood-sugar level in humans or vertebrates. Surprisingly, the novel agents have a significantly higher bio-availability and can thus be absorbed by cells more easily than was previously the case using creatine.
