Abstract (en)

[origin: CA2676144A1] The invention relates to a continuous casting device for producing slabs made of steel, comprising a mold and a downstream strand guide having racks with lower and upper frames, on which guide rollers are provided, the jaw wi dth of which can be continuously adjusted by means of the adjusting elements connecting the frames. Cylinders are provided as the adjusting elements, wh ich are controlled by shift valves. To this end, the advantages of position- controlled cylinders as adjusting elements are to be used, however the costs are to be lower. The invention therefore provides that the valves are confi gured as quick-acting valves, or that the valves are equipped with a control ler enabling a quick switching process.
