[origin: WO2008074649A1] The invention relates to a data processing system for a motor vehicle comprising multiple central control units (2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4) and a bidirectional ring bus (8), wherein the central control units (2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4) are set up to communicate with each other via said ring bus. A group of wheels (10) of a vehicle is assigned to each central control unit (2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4), the brakes (9) of said wheels being controllable by the associated central control unit (2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4). Also, each central control unit (2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4) is connected via a dedicated circuit (6) to at least one pedal position sensor (5) which detects the position of a brake pedal (7).
