Abstract (en)
The passport has a plasticized data page (15) and paper sheets (22) connected with each other in a center area to form a bending- or folding edge (17) for turning or folding laser personalized pages. A seam (18) is arranged in the area for joining the pages of the passport. The bending- or folding edge is formed by a non-woven strip (4), where the strip is made of thermoplastic hardened non woven fabric. An edge area of the non-woven strip is arranged in layers of the data page by lamination. The strip forms a foldable connection between the data pages connected with each other. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a passport.

Reisepass mit plastifizierter Datenseite (15) und/oder plastifiziertem Vorsatz (19, 20), sowie weiteren Papierbögen (22), die im Mittenbereich miteinander verbunden sind und dort eine Knick- oder Klappkante (17) bilden, die ein Umblättern oder Umknicken der einzelnen Seiten ermöglicht, wobei in diesem Bereich eine Naht (18) zum Zusammenfügen der Seiten des Reisepasses angeordnet ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Knick- oder Klappkante (17) durch einen Vliesstreifen (4) gebildet ist, und dass der Randbereich des Vliesstreifens in den Schichten der Datenseite (15) durch eine Laminierung festgelegt ist.
