Abstract (en)

Magnesium alloy comprises: aluminum (1-9 wt.%); zinc (0.6-6 wt.%); manganese (0.1-2 wt.%); rare earth elements (0-2 wt.%); and copper (0.5-2 wt.%), where the weight ratio of aluminum to zinc is 1:1-2:1. An independent claim is included for preparing the magnesium alloy, comprising melting impure magnesium scrap and copper containing precursors and alloying by adjusting the concentration of the components.

Abstract (de)

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine korrosionsbeständige Magnesiumlegierung, die mit vertretbarem Energieaufwand aus Schrott oder unreinen, kupferhaltigen Vorstoffe herstellbar ist und eine Duktiliät aufweist, so dass sie als Guss- oder Knetwerkstoff verwendet werden kann. Die Magnesiumlegierung enthält, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht der Magnesiumlegierung, 1 bis 9 Gew.-% Aluminium, 0,6 bis 6 Gew.-% Zink, 0,1 bis 2 Gew.-% Mangan, 0 bis 2 Gew.-% Seltenerdelementen, 0,5 bis 2 Gew.-% Kupfer, wobei Verhältnis der Gewichtsprozentanteile von Aluminium zu Zink im Bereich von 1:1 bis 2:1 liegt.
