[origin: EP2116753A1] The product has a layered structure for enclosing a fibrous layer provided with a metallic covering, where the metallic covering is placed directly at a surface of a part of fibers e.g. glass fibers, in the fibrous layer. The fibrous layer is selected from nonwoven material, voile fabric or felt. The metallic covering is made of aluminum, copper, zinc, silver, titanium, chromium or nickel. The covering is associated with a layer made of mineral fiber, natural/synthetic organic, foam or organic/mineral cellular based material. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for improving thermal performances of an insulation product (2) a method for obtaining a thermal insulation product.
