[origin: DE102006061020B3] The illuminant has a set of carriers (1.1-1.4) that are bent and arranged such that bent carrier sections (2.i) are joined and a solid angle of a surface of the sections corresponds to different solid angles of a polyhedron. LEDs (4.i) are arranged on the sections, where heat of the LEDs is dissipated by the carriers based on the sections. Two of the carriers are arranged parallel to a common axis. The carriers (1.1, 1.2) extend in a direction along the common axis during the carriers (1.3, 1.4) extend in another direction that is aligned against the former direction along the axis. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an LED illuminant.
