[origin: EP2119565A2] Method for regulating printing processes in a printer comprises preparing ink separation data for each image to be printed on a printing path, calculating image regions in an ink separation data-composite for each image, writing image regions together with the ink separation data-composite into a nominal value data file, re-calculating the image regions depending on a printing plate cylinder configuration of a printing cylinder and controlling a sensor depending on the selected image region. Preferred Features: The image regions containing information for controlling the process are determined so that the size is dependent on the characteristics of the sensor.
