The device has a signal source (1) e.g. decoder or DVD player, for supplying signals (SL, SR) to produce sound impressions, respectively. A circuit arrangement i.e. phase shifting arrangement (2), modifies the signals for producing a third sound impression of a virtual source. Terminals are provided for outputting modified signals at a matrix or loudspeakers (L1, L2), and a phase shifting module (5) is arranged downstream to the arrangement. The circuit arrangement or the phase shifting module modifies the signals relative to each other with a phase shift of between 170 degrees to 190 degrees. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a surround sound.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Vorrichtung zum Erzeugen eines Raumklangs mit einer Quelle, die zumindest ein erstes Signal (SL) zum Erzeugen eines ersten Klangeindrucks und ein zweites Signal (SR) zum Erzeugen eines zweiten Klangeindrucks bereitstellt, mit einer Schaltungsanordnung zum Modifizieren des ersten Signals (SL) und des zweiten Signals (SR) zum Erzeugen eines dritten Klangeindrucks einer virtuellen Quelle (SC) und mit Anschlüssen zum Ausgeben eines ersten derart modifizierten Signals (SL') und eines zweiten derart modifizierten Signals (SR') an jeweils einen Lautsprecher (L1, L2). Vorteilhaft wird diese Schaltung dadurch, dass diese eine Phasenverschiebungsanordnung (2) zum Modifizieren des ersten Signals (SL) und des zweiten Signals (SR) relativ zueinander mit einer Phasenverschiebung von 170° bis 190° aufweist. Vorteilhaft ist außerdem ein Verfahren zum Durchführen einer entsprechenden Signalverarbeitung.
