[origin: WO2008078006A1] The invention relates to a brake device (1) especially for a utility vehicle, said device comprising a front pneumatic braking system (6) that can act on at least one first front axle of the vehicle and operates under a nominal pneumatic operating pressure, and a rear pneumatic braking system (7) that can act on at least one rear axle of the vehicle and operates under a nominal operating pressure. The brake device also comprises connection means, preferably a double cut-off valve (24), for connecting the rear pneumatic braking system (7) to the front pneumatic braking system (6), preventing the pneumatic passage of the rear braking system (7) towards the front braking system (6) when the front braking circuit operates at its nominal operating pressure, and authorising the pneumatic passage of the rear braking system (7) towards the front braking system (6) when the front braking circuit (6) operates at a pressure lower than its nominal operating pressure.
