Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1932966A1] The iron (1) has a base (2), on which a body (3) and a handle (4) are mounted. The body comprises switches (7, 9) associated to a function such as vapor generation. The handle is movably mounted with respect to the body such that the function associated to the switches is instantaneously activated or deactivated. The switch is activated by mechanical units (10, 14) integrated to the handle. Return units (6, 13) e.g. springs, move the handle to a lower position when the iron is in rest position. An independent claim is also included for an ironing system comprising a laundry iron.
