According to one inventive method, a plastic support film (32) is provided, an effect layer (34) is applied to the support film (32), and an auxiliary transfer layer (36) is applied to the entire surface of the effect layer (34) and the support film (32), the adhesion of the auxiliary transfer layer (36) to the support film (32) being less than the adhesion thereof to the effect layer (34). An adhesive layer (38) is then applied to the target substrate (35) to transfer the formed layer compound.
