[origin: DE102007009891A1] The adjusting device has an adjustment element (2) coupled to the side protection (3a,3b). A supporting unit is provided for mechanically supporting the adjustment element and pneumatically actuating positioning unit for positioning the adjustment element relative to the supporting unit. The positioning unit, for example an inflatable bubble, is coupled to the adjustment element to reposition the adjustment element to adjust the side protection, when the positioning unit is actuated. An independent claim is also included for the method for adjustment of a side protection.
