[origin: WO2008132399A2] The fuel injector for an internal combustion engine comprises: an injector body (12) forming a nozzle (4) tipped with an injection aperture (23); means for capping the injection aperture (23) including an assembly (28) bearing a vibrating rod (23) finished with a head for capping (26) the injection aperture (23); means for vibrating the rod (24) and/or the nozzle (14) in such a way as to alternatively open and close the injection aperture (23) and; means for recoil (30) of the capping means to the position for capping the injection aperture (23), which cooperate with the assembly (28) bearing the rod (24), and; means for locking the assembly (28) bearing the rod (24) in relation to the injector body (12) which are selectively activatable depending on the speed of movement of the assembly (28) bearing the rod (24).
