Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008101749A1] The present invention relates to a high-pressure pump (1), in particular for delivering fuel for a common rail fuel injection system, comprising a pump body (2) and/or a cylinder head (3), wherein at least one cam drive having a tapping element (4) which can be set in a reciprocating movement in the direction of a stroke axis (7) by a cam geometry (6) which is introduced into a camshaft (5) is accommodated in the pump body (2), wherein the stroke movement can be transmitted to a respectively associated tappet device with a pump piston (8) which is guided in a guide hole (9) in the cylinder head (3) and/or in the pump body (2), wherein a radial play (10) is provided in order to form sliding guidance between the pump piston (8) and the guide hole (9), wherein the radial play (10) is increased by a play widening amount (11) in regions of transverse force transmission between the pump piston (8) and the guide hole (9).
