Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2008101761A1] The invention relates to a method for depicting information, particularly in a vehicle, by means of a display device 1 having a liquid crystal cell 3, wherein electric voltage is fed to the liquid crystal cell 3, and wherein the voltage is periodically switched on and off for a flashing depiction of the information, so that a flash period duration each has an on-duration of the voltage and an off-duration of the voltage. In order to achieve a high attention effect of the information depiction even at low temperature, it is proposed that the on-duration during the flash period duration is dependent on a temperature, and that during a first, lower temperature the on-duration is shorter than at a second, higher temperature, while the flash period duration remains the same. In addition, the invention relates to a display device 1 comprising a liquid crystal cell 3 to which electric voltage can be fed for depicting information, and comprising a selection unit 4 electrically connected to the liquid crystal cell 3.
