[origin: WO2008116510A1] The invention relates to a sheet metal, including a metal band, comprising a front and a back, both the front and the back comprising a first coating of a medium thickness within a range of 0.5 to 10 µm, the first coating of the front containing particles that release bivalent or polyvalent metal ions upon the effect of an acid in such an amount that a self-precipitating coating agent forms a second coating thereon upon contact with the front, while this is not the case for the first coating of the back. The first coating of the front may be coated with a self- precipitating coating agent. Any cutting edges comprising no first coating may be covered by the self- precipitating coating agent. The invention further relates to the sheet metals coated accordingly, and a method for the production thereof.
