[origin: WO2008113644A2] The invention relates to a sensor element for the determination of a gas component or particles in a measuring gas, having a first and a second measurement electrode (15, 16), wherein the measurement electrodes (15, 16) are embodied as interdigital electrodes having a series of engaging branches (15a, 16a) and each having a main line (15b, 16b) to which the branches (15a, 16a) are connected in an electrically conductive manner, and wherein the branches (15a, 16a) of the interdigital electrodes have a substantially parallel orientation to a longitudinal axis of the sensor element (10).
