Abstract (en)
The lamp (1) has a discharge container enclosing a discharge volume, and electrodes extending into the discharge volume enclosed by the container. A filling containing metal halides is accommodated in the discharge volume. The discharge container is enclosed by an outer piston that is supported by a frame (21), where the outer piston is evacuated. The frame in the outer piston serves for the adjustment and maintenance of vacuum. The frame is partially or sectionally made of niobium and zirconium, where the frame is exposed in a temperature of 230 degree centigrades.

Das Gestell, das ein Entladungsgefäß in einem Außenkolben haltert, ist aus Nb, Zr oder einer Legierung dieser beiden Metalle gefertigt, wobei dieses in einem evakuierten Außenkolben als Getter wirkt.
