[origin: WO2008109437A2] The present invention relates to therapeutic and/or prophylactic uses of pyridazine compounds and to pharmaceutical compositions containing one or more of these compounds as an active component for treating a disorder characterized by conduction disturbances, electroconvulsions and/or seizures, in particular epilepsy, more particularly pediatric epilepsy. In an aspect of the invention, the pyridazine compound has the Formula Ia or Ib wherein R<SUP>1</SUP>, R<SUP>2</SUP>, R<SUP>3</SUP>, R<SUP>4</SUP>, R<SUP>5</SUP>, R<SUP>6</SUP> and R<SUP>7</SUP> are as defined in the description.
