[origin: EP1970340A1] The method involves operating a lift unit (10) in a normal mode. The lower lift cabin (LU) is provided for the passengers, who have indicated that they would like to reach the lowest stop (13.1), by a destination call (Z.1), in the normal mode. The lift unit has an upper lift cabin (DU) and a lower lift cabin, arranged in the same lift shaft (11). An independent claim is also included for lift unit has a lift shaft.
