[origin: WO2008113436A1] A hospital bed (1) comprises longitudinal bars (42, 43), between which levers (38, 39) are supported. The levers (38, 39) are attached to an axle tube (61) extending between the longitudinal bars (42, 43). The longitudinal bars are locally reinforced in terms of the wall thickness on the axle tube (61) on the side adjacent to the axle tube by a welded-on reinforcement plate (67). A round rod (74) extends through the through bores (71, 77) in the two longitudinal bars (42, 43) and the axle tube (61).
