[origin: WO2008139059A2] The laundry processing automaton (1) of the invention includes a plurality of separate modules (3, 5, 7) and at least one tubular drum (2) for receiving the laundry, wherein each drum (2) can be moved from one module to another and removably and temporarily positioned in each module. At least one (5) of said modules (3, 5, 7) is a laundry washing and drying module. The or each washing and drying module (5) includes a tank (50) for receiving a drum (2) for both washing and drying the laundry in the drum (2).
