[origin: WO2008107276A1] The invention relates to a pump system (1) for delivering multi-phase mixtures, the pump system comprising a pump device (3) for multi-phase mixtures having at least one fluid phase and at least one gaseous phase. The pump device (3) has one or more axial compression stages, each having an axial impeller, and one or more delivery stages with one radial impeller each, the stages being provided subsequent to the axial compression stage or stages, wherein the pump system (1) additionally includes a separator (2) on the inlet side of the pump device (3) for separating a portion of the gaseous phase, and wherein the pump device (3) is configured for delivery heights greater than 50 m.
