[origin: WO2008110496A1] The invention relates to a glow plug for a combustion chamber of a self-igniting internal combustion engine. The glow plug comprises a ceramic heating element (12) designed as a glow element, which is surrounded by a supporting tube (14). The ceramic heating element (12) is sealed from the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine by means of a seal in the supporting tube (14). The seal is designed as sealing element (40), made from an FeNi-alloy having an invar effect.
